Tony Daniel Back on Batman

I'm pretty happy with the announcement that Tony Daniel's back on Batman as both writer and artist. For all its flaws, Battle for the Cowl was a big, fun, good looking book, mainly hamstrung by the fact that the end of it was obvious for pretty much a year or so.

I think Winick's hit or miss (the majority of Green Arrow was good, but much of his Outsiders stank), and while I enjoyed his first issue, I'm not exactly clamoring for another long run on the book - mainly because he not only gave us Jason Todd back, but he also created the ScareBeast, and the less said about him the better.

That said, I think Daniels really needs to step up his writing game - but with a six issue arc, I think he has room to grow the story he wants to tell. Looks like that story involves Black Mask (is it too obvious if this ends up being Bruce Wayne?), Penguin, Catwoman and Two Face...

...although, really, Harvey? A Two Face Batman? Do we need that?
